Crystal Palace have now entered the race to sign a centre-half who is enjoying a “monstrous” campaign, following a fresh development regarding Marc Guehi’s future.

Journalist Andres Onrubia Ramos has been hugely impressed with the youngster’s performances since his arrival in Ligue 1 during the summer, praising him as a “beast” and insisting he is having a “monstrous” season — hinting he may not stay long at Lens.
The Austrian has demonstrated excellent defensive qualities over the past year, and just like Guehi, has also shown his ability going forward, signalling he could be a near like-for-like replacement for the England international.
The Graz-born centre-back is experiencing a superb first season in Ligue 1, suggesting he may soon be ready to challenge himself in the Premier League. However, Lens are in a strong bargaining position, as the young defender is tied down until 2030.
Naturally, Crystal Palace will be extremely hesitant to part ways with Guehi, and with Glasner’s side pushing for European qualification, a January exit should be off the table. But Baidoo could become the ideal long-term replacement next summer.
