Amidst the speculation, Leicester have been linked with two intriguing names. Newcastle United have reportedly offered Paraguayan midfielder Miguel Almiron to the Foxes. The 29-year-old, who has struggled for game time at St James’ Park this season, could provide a much-needed boost to Leicester’s attacking options following Abdul Fatawu’s season-ending injury. However, Newcastle’s £17 million price tag may prove a stumbling block.
With Premier League experience under his belt, Almiron could be a valuable addition to Leicester’s squad. But whether the club can afford to meet Newcastle’s demands remains unclear.
Meanwhile, links to Japanese right-back Hiroki Sekine have resurfaced. The 22-year-old, who plays for Kashiwa Reysol, has been on Leicester’s radar since December. On Thursday, Kashiwa Reysol confirmed Sekine’s departure, stating that he will join a club overseas.
While no destination has been officially named, speculation is rife that Sekine may be headed to the King Power Stadium. The Foxes are in desperate need of reinforcements in defence, and a move for the promising youngster could fit their financial constraints.
