Sunderland Lead the Charge for Roma Star as Transfer Talks Collapse Elsewhere – Le Bris Eyes Game-Changing January Deal

Sunderland Make Move for Roma Midfielder Enzo Le Fee After Real Betis Deal Collapses

Sunderland have reportedly entered the race to sign Roma midfielder Enzo Le Fee after his proposed move to Real Betis fell through. According to Il Messaggero, the Championship promotion contenders are now pushing to secure the 24-year-old’s services before the January transfer window closes.

Le Fee is among several players Roma are eager to offload this month as Claudio Ranieri looks to streamline his squad for a more stable second half of the season. Real Betis had been the frontrunners for the Frenchman’s signature, but talks appear to have broken down, leaving the door open for Sunderland to step in.

The report suggests that Sunderland have shown serious interest, though it remains unclear what concrete steps they have taken so far. What is certain, however, is that Black Cats manager Regis Le Bris has a strong connection with the midfielder. Le Fee made 57 appearances under Le Bris during their time together at FC Lorient, making him one of the coach’s most trusted players.

This history could work in Sunderland’s favour as they try to beat other suitors to the talented midfielder. Le Fee, who has also played extensively under Christophe Pélissier, is highly regarded for his technical ability and creativity in midfield—qualities that could provide a significant boost to Sunderland’s promotion campaign.

With Roma keen to finalize a deal, Sunderland now appear to be in pole position.
