Leicester City return to the King Power Stadium on Friday evening to take on Birmingham City on matchday four of the Championship.
It’s been a consistent but unspectacular start for the Foxes since their drop from the Premier League, and they are still searching for their rhythm in the second tier.
Securing a forward who can replicate Jamie Vardy’s consistent goal-scoring is nearly impossible, following the departure of the East Midlands club’s icon at the end of last season, but they may now have a target in their sights.
However, they still require one additional element for any potential transfer to materialize, and Leicester are currently dependent on Millwall.

The Lions are also seeking a new forward, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that striker Jusef Erabi has the chance to join either the London club or Belgian side Genk.
€5m bids are on the table for Swedish club Hammarby IF, who finished second in the Allsvenskan in 2024, suggesting that Millwall may be bracing for offers for Mihailo Ivanovic in the final days of the transfer window.
Leicester, who urgently need a new standout striker, should seize this opportunity and bring the 20-year-old to the East Midlands this summer.
He scored 12 goals in 37 Championship matches for Millwall in 2024/25, with Pete O’Rourke reporting earlier in August that Ivanovic is a target for the Foxes.

The Lions are reluctant to part with their star forward without securing a substantial fee, but given his young age, Leicester must surely view this as a worthwhile investment.
Acquiring a striker who has achieved double-digit goals in the Championship at Ivanovic’s age is almost unprecedented, and the Foxes should make him their final high-profile signing of the summer.
For Alex Neil, however, this would be a catastrophe. The Serbian is a vital component of his squad, and he holds immense respect for him. Back in April, the Millwall manager said (via: The National): “Any 20-year-old that leads the line in the Championship and can get nearly [10 goals], and he’ll get double figures before the end of the season.
“If you do that, that’s an unbelievable season and it won’t be surprising me if people start talking about him. I’ve already seen something the other day talking about the top 10 young talents in Europe – he’s one of them.
“He’s 20 years of age, there are very few strikers at that age that will lead the line at this level and also score goals, so he deserves all the plaudits he gets.”
