Celtic icon Scott Brown had an enjoyable weekend fulfilling his punditry role for Sky Sports.
Now manager at Ayr United, Brown was speaking on Sky Sports as he observed Celtic’s Flag Day festivities against St Mirren.
Brown didn’t hesitate to make an impact, as the Celtic legend teased Kris Boyd ahead of the major trophy celebrations, accurately noting that his fellow Sky Sports pundit has seldom experienced these memorable occasions.
At full-time, the former Celtic captain was at it again as Boyd shared his opinion on Callum McGregor’s disallowed goal for the Bhoys against St Mirren.

The VAR controversy surrounding McGregor’s goal continued in the Sky Sports studio as Eilidh Barbour asked Kris Boyd for his take on the video referee’s call.
Barbour said on Sky Sports, “Another Scottish player thought that he perhaps put them ahead. Callum McGregor denied. He thought it came off higher up on his arm. Did VAR get this one right?”
Boyd: “100%”
Barbour: “I mean I’m asking the wrong person, aren’t I?”
Brown: “You are asking the wrong person.”
Boyd: “I’m just stating the rules of the game. If it hits your hand and it leads to a goal then it’s going to be chopped off.
“I mean, you can quite clearly see that it hits his elbow, then he puts it back in the back of the net.
“You can’t change the rules for teams. It’s a handball. A handball is a handball.
“As soon as I saw that, I said it straight away. It looks like it was a hand ball. And we’ve been over-critical of referees in Scotland for a long period of time. They’ve got that one right.”

Celtic have been matched with either Kairat Almaty or Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League play-off round.
The Hoops will be eager to secure a spot in the lucrative group stage, where Brendan Rodgers achieved remarkable success last season.
With a minimum of £40m at stake, the Celtic board will be equally motivated to advance to the group stage to provide Rodgers with a substantial portion of that Champions League revenue to bolster the squad.
Or, at the very least, that’s what Celtic supporters will be anticipating.
