KWON HYEOK-KYU finalized his £250,000 transfer to Nantes without playing a single match in competitive action for Celtic during his two years with the champions.
The South Korean midfield enforcer completed loan stints at St Mirren and Hibs before signing a three-year agreement with the Ligue 1 team, as CQN predicted earlier this week.
The 24-year-old anchor, who joined from Busan IPark in June 2023, used social media to APOLOGISE as he offered an emotional goodbye to the Hoops supporters.
Kwon, in his Instagram post, stated: “Hi Celts, it’s time to say goodbye.
“I didn’t want to say goodbye like this, really sorry I didn’t help the team a lot.
“But I was proud to be a member of this team.
“I’ll always support this team anywhere. Good luck with this season.
“Glasgow will be green forever.”
Brendan Rodgers had made it evident that the midfield controller had no future at Parkhead, which sparked interest from both domestic and international clubs.
Austria Vienna were among the initial teams to express interest, but Nantes presented the offer that lured Kwon to the French top-flight.
Although he couldn’t leave a mark in the hoops, Celtic fans will extend their best wishes to the player on his football adventures.
