Leicester City are poised to profit from center-back Caleb Okoli this summer as part of a £30 million-plus strategy to generate transfer funds, sources have exclusively informed Football League World.
The Foxes have at last appointed a new head coach in the form of Marti Cifuentes, with the former QPR manager taking over from Ruud van Nistelrooy in the King Power Stadium dugout following the club’s drop from the Premier League.
It is the Championship that City will compete in once again for the 2025-26 season, but there’s effort required regarding Cifuentes’ roster that he’ll have available for the upcoming campaign—and it’s probable that players will need to leave before new ones join.
Leicester City planning to sell defender Caleb Okoli:

Leicester aren’t abundant with funds after their return to the Championship, and FLW has been told several players will undoubtedly need to be sold to gather some capital.
It has already been reported that Danish goalkeeper Mads Hermansen attracts interest from other clubs, with both Chelsea and West Ham eager, and Football Insider claim that the Foxes are prepared to consider £20 million offers for his services.
According to FLW’s sources, however, the club intends to raise at least £30 million in player sales this summer, with Caleb Okoli also slated for a departure from the East Midlands team.
The 24-year-old defender, who is estimated—via Capology—to earn £25,000 a week at Leicester, has only been with the club since last summer following his £13 million transfer from Atalanta, but he could be lined up for a swift exit after enduring the Premier League relegation.

Okoli appeared in just 19 of Leicester’s 38 Premier League matches last season, starting in the initial months of the campaign under Steve Cooper but less frequently under his successor Van Nistelrooy, with only three top-flight starts occurring in 2025.
And with Leicester aiming to raise at least £30 million by offloading players in the transfer market, Okoli is poised to accompany Hermansen as individuals that Cifuentes is ready to release so that he can begin to reshape the Foxes squad in his own vision.
