Lewis Hamilton has continued to speak candidly about the circumstances at Ferrari, stating “a lot needs to change” at the Scuderia.
It has been a challenging beginning to 2025 for the seven-time world champion since transitioning from Mercedes at the close of the 2024 season, leaving behind one of the most remarkable collaborations the summit of motorsports has witnessed.
The switch was anticipated to revive the prospects of securing Hamilton’s record-breaking eighth world title, but that hope has faded rapidly following a lackluster first ten races, with the 40-year-old still lacking a Grand Prix podium as he holds P6 in the drivers’ standings with 79 points.
“I’m okay, but I think what all you guys don’t see is what’s happening in the background, and there’s a lot going on,” Hamilton explained after finishing P6 at the Canadian Grand Prix.
“There’s a lot that needs improving. A lot of things need to be changed. For me, I know we’re not fighting for a win this year, I know we’re not in the championship, which is not a great feeling.”
Hamilton disheartened by Ferrari’s current performance:
In Montreal, Hamilton out-qualified Charles Leclerc to maintain his 100% record on Saturday against his teammates. However, after striking a groundhog early in Sunday’s race, he couldn’t hold off his teammate.
It was yet another discouraging moment to add to an expanding list for the Brit in 2025.
