Celtic face a major summer rebuild, with several departures anticipated, and one winger is seemingly edging closer to a permanent exit.

The Hoops have reportedly revived their interest in Go Ahead Eagles winger Jacob Breum, a player they targeted multiple times but failed to land.

Journalist Stephen McGowan also reported interest in goalkeeper Jari De Busser and Champions League-scoring striker Kasper Høgh.

It’s a summer transfer window the club simply cannot afford to get wrong.

There are expected to be several current players moving on too, with winger Luis Palma attracting interest from Lech Poznan.

The 26-year-old has spent this season on loan at the Polish side, contributing to 21 goals in 46 matches.

That form helped them secure their second consecutive Polish league title.

Club director Adrian Gałuszka recently spoke about their ambition to sign Palma on a permanent basis. But that would require Celtic to lower their asking price further.

For Lech to complete a permanent deal, they want the Hoops to reduce their valuation from the agreed £3.5 million to around £2 million.

Karol Klimczak, Lech Poznan’s President, spoke about the club’s desire to retain Palma permanently.

Speaking at their title celebrations, he said (TCW):

“It’s clear that we want to keep Luis Palma. We’re working on it.”

With Palma unlikely to have a future at Celtic, a summer departure appears probable.

He has rediscovered form in Poland, helped deliver success, and is of strong interest to their club’s hierarchy.

But Celtic’s own board are unlikely to instantly lower the agreed value of an in-form player simply to satisfy Lech.

It’s a transfer that will likely be resolved sooner rather than later, but for now, the clubs remain engaged in negotiations.
