According to Spanish outlet Marca, the Molineux side are reportedly lining up a move for Getafe forward Christantus Uche.
The 22-year-old’s standout La Liga displays have seemingly attracted the attention of Wolves, along with interest from Chelsea, Brentford, and Leeds.
The Nigerian international is said to have a release clause close to £21 million, though Getafe are anticipated to accept less, with Wolves ready to table a £17 million bid to land the forward.
Uche has received high praise in La Liga:
Primarily featuring as an attacking midfielder, Uche typically operates in the left channel – an area Cunha often occupied.
The Nigerian has flourished in that role, tallying four goals and six assists in his first season in Spain, which has earned him glowing praise from his coach.
Speaking to Infobiwenger in May, Getafe boss Josa Bordalas reflected on Uche’s breakthrough year.
“He’s a fabulous kid, we have a lot of affection for him. All players go through a process. He reached professional football without going through any stages, and at times it was difficult for him.
“We tried to help him, and he’s helped us a lot, too. It was a risky gamble; there’s room for improvement, but he’s had a great season.”
