Dale Taylor Shines in Wigan’s Derby Win as Maloney Hails ‘Outstanding’ Performance”

Dale Taylor, the 21-year-old forward on loan at Wigan Athletic from Nottingham Forest, has impressed boss Shaun Maloney enough to cement his place in the starting line-up.

Taylor played a pivotal role in Wigan’s 2-0 derby victory over rivals Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, opening the scoring in the 18th minute. It was a moment that showcased the young striker’s determination and hard work, traits that have endeared him to Maloney despite a modest goal return this season.

Speaking to Wigan Athletic’s official media, Maloney lauded Taylor’s performance, describing him as “outstanding” and highlighting his invaluable contributions to the team.

“I thought Dale was brilliant all day,” said Maloney. “He has been very good for us; without scoring six, seven, or eight goals, he has actually been very good for the team. He was outstanding today and he deserved every bit of that goal because he works incredibly hard.”

Taylor, who has featured 16 times for Wigan this season, has notched three goals and provided four assists, proving himself a key asset in their campaign.
