NafisaNottingham Forest are set to be active in the transfer market this summer, with European competition looming next season for the first time in three decades.
Igor Jesus is nearing a move to Forest. The Botafogo forward has agreed to join the club after the Club World Cup, and it seems the Reds are eager to enhance their attacking options.
Other parts of the squad will be reinforced as well. Forest have expressed interest in Jaka Bijol from Udinese, and it appears that each new day brings a fresh name linked with a transfer to the City Ground.
To accommodate incoming players on Trentside, it looks likely that the exit door will also be busy, with several players expected to leave the club.
Palmeiras pushing hard to land Forest winger Ramon Sosa:
While it had previously been reported that Sosa wants to remain at Forest, it seems Palmeiras are refusing to give up on their pursuit of the Paraguayan wide man, who made just one Premier League start during the 2024/25 campaign.
As per journalist Jorge Nicola, Palmeiras have already reached a deal with Nottingham Forest, but the player has yet to accept their proposal, with Sosa still aiming to continue playing in the Premier League.
Sosa joined the club from Argentine side Talleres, and at 25, he was expected to be a key figure in the squad.
However, his time at Forest hasn’t gone as planned, with Nuno Espirito Santo opting to reshape his formation during the absence of preferred wingers Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga.
Sosa netted three goals for Forest in his debut season, two of which came in the FA Cup when he was given the platform to impress against Luton Town and Exeter City.

Considering Sosa isn’t viewed as a developing talent or one for the long-term future, it’s crucial that Forest look to offload the winger this summer if the offer benefits all sides involved.
Sosa is unlikely to see much game time again next season, and an exit seems to be the most viable route at this point, especially as Forest are expected to recruit at least one more wide player during the window.
Palmeiras could provide a solid next step for Sosa, and he needs to seriously reflect on what would best serve his career moving forward.
Though Sosa has performed reasonably well when given opportunities at Forest, the club’s rising ambitions to solidify their status as a top-half Premier League side mean he’s unlikely to see significant minutes in the upcoming season.
