Sky Sports —Unstoppable star completes medical ahead of Celtic summer transfer move, he’ll be able to join the club officially on July 1

Celtic prospect Daniel Cummings has taken another step toward becoming a West Ham United player.

The Scottish forward is poised to become a free agent and has been on course for the London Stadium since February. The Hammers struck a pre-contract agreement with the 19-year-old, and he’ll be eligible to join the club officially on July 1.

Cummings is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Scottish football, having notched an impressive 23 goals in 28 appearances for Celtic B in the Lowland League. He progressed through the academy setup at Celtic Park and made his first-team debut in a 4-2 defeat to Aston Villa in the Champions League in January.

Cummings Nearing West Ham Switch:

Sky Sports News’ Anthony Joseph reports that Cummings has “completed a medical” ahead of his transfer to West Ham. He’s expected to sign a four-year contract and become the first of what many anticipate will be several additions during Graham Potter’s squad rebuild.

Cummings was hailed as “unstoppable” during a standout UEFA Youth League campaign, scoring five times in five matches. He’s a sharp finisher who could provide a long-term solution for Potter while also easing the current shortage of strikers at the London Stadium.

Niclas Fullkrug has dealt with fitness setbacks, while Michail Antonio is still recovering from a car accident earlier in the winter. Brendan Rodgers previously stressed that the Scotland U19 international, who has three caps, needed to be patient — but also warned him not to be swayed by agents trying to determine his path.

West Ham had considered signing the Scottish youngster during the January window but opted to wait until the summer. They instead brought in Evan Ferguson on loan, but the Irish striker failed to impress and is likely to return to Brighton & Hove Albion next month.
