Last week, we reported on claims from Brazil suggesting Nottingham Forest would face competition from Arsenal and Fulham for the forward.
Nuno Espírito Santo’s team have now stepped up their pursuit to land Jesus in the upcoming summer transfer period.
That’s as per journalist Venê Casagrande, who shared the update on X, formerly Twitter.
He reveals the Brazilian side have ‘advanced negotiations’ to transfer the 24-year-old to Nottingham Forest for €20m. However, they intend to allow his departure only after the Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 14th.
Casagrande notes that Nottingham Forest will be required to pay a significant portion of the transfer sum up front, with the remainder to follow later in the year. He also mentions that Jesus’ agents have verified the progress made between both clubs, though no direct quotes were provided.
The representatives are reportedly stressing that Jesus is evaluating the best move for his professional development.
Globo Esporte report that Botafogo have received the English club’s €20m plus add-ons bid for the Brazilian international to join post-Club World Cup.
While Casagrande states the striker is still considering whether joining the Reds is the right choice, Globo claims Jesus’ camp are satisfied with Nottingham Forest’s offer and ‘wish to finalise the transfer’.
The bid is acceptable to the South American outfit, but they have yet to finalise an agreement with Nottingham Forest. This is because they prefer to wait until the Club World Cup concludes, in case a more lucrative proposal comes in.
