Aberdeen shot-stopper Ross Doohan will depart the club this summer after agreeing to make a return to Celtic.
The 27-year-old remained on the bench as the Dons triumphed over the Hoops on penalties to lift the Scottish Cup on Saturday, marking his final outing with the team.
The Scotsman had been linked with his old club earlier this month, and the Press and Journal understands he has now signed a pre-contract agreement to head back to Celtic Park.
Doohan, who featured in 18 games for Aberdeen this season while Mitov was sidelined through injury, is expected to take over from the Hoops’ third-choice keeper Scott Bain, who is in the last year of his deal with the Glasgow outfit.
According to UEFA rules, Celtic must include eight homegrown players in their Champions League squad.
Additionally, four of those players must come through the club’s own youth academy.
Doohan is a product of Celtic’s youth system and spent seven years with the Parkhead club between 2015 and 2022.
