In a short one-liner, but one that was unmistakably directed at Rangers winger Vaclav Cerny. Back in March, during the Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park, Cerny sparked controversy when he squirted water at Celtic fans after celebrating a late Rangers goal.

The act was captured on video, and it didn’t sit well. Police reviewed the incident, and former Celtic striker Chris Sutton summed it up perfectly when he said, “That was just silly. Players are warned before these games not to wind up the crowd.”

So, when Celtic lifted the league trophy and the champagne was flowing, the club used that very moment to get their own back. This wasn’t the first instance of Celtic using social media to take a playful swipe at their rivals this season.

Just a few hours earlier, they posted a message that began “World’s Most Successful…” and wrapped it up with “Simply the Best” – a phrase closely associated with Rangers’ image. The caption was cheekily followed by, “Just another day in Paradise,” referring to Celtic Park’s nickname.

These posts have thrilled Celtic fans, especially with the league trophy back in the Parkhead cabinet. This afternoon’s draw with St Mirren wasn’t a thriller, but it didn’t need to be. The title had already been clinched before the final day, and the match became more of a party than a contest.

James Forrest gave the Celtic faithful one last cheer in injury time, netting a late leveller that ensured Celtic remained unbeaten at home for the league season. It was a goal of significance too – it marked the 16th consecutive season in which Forrest has scored for the club. That’s a streak last matched by Celtic icon Paul McStay.
