NafisaRennes have reportedly decided to cut their losses on former Celtic ace Kyogo Furuhashi…after he ended up costing them a staggering £83,333 for every minute he appeared for the French side.
The Japanese international’s £10 million switch to France in January has turned out to be a complete failure after being sidelined by coach Habib Beye.
He’s only managed a total of 120 minutes of game time in five months since his high-profile transfer.
That means Rennes have forked out £83,333 for every minute the 30-year-old has been on the field.
And according to sources in France, Rennes officials have given the green light for Kyogo to move on in the summer, with reported interest from Bundesliga sides.
He last appeared for the club in mid-April and has started just one match since his arrival from Celtic, where he notched 63 goals in only 93 league starts.
Rennes boss Beye automatically triggered a managerial contract extension after securing the club’s safety, and Kyogo is not expected to feature in their final Ligue 1 fixture of the season against Marseille this weekend.
