Nottingham Forest key player set to follow Gibbs-White out of City Ground as Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth confirms Man Utd to SIGN player with £40M PL ace revealed as imminent replacement by Nuno Santo

Nottingham Forest’s transfer strategy is already in motion.

Forest’s 1-1 stalemate with Leicester sealed their qualification for European competition next season, meaning the club must strengthen accordingly.

The club is already monitoring Southampton midfielder Mateus Fernandes, who is seen as the perfect fit for their engine room.

Manchester City’s James McAtee is also being associated with a potential switch to the City Ground, although there is strong interest from other clubs for his services.

At the same time, a significant departure could be on the cards, as Manchester United are targeting one of Forest’s standout performers.

Manchester United targeting Nottingham Forest standout Callum Hudson-Odoi:

Callum Hudson-Odoi is approaching the final year of his contract, and multiple reports have indicated that a move away could be imminent.

Serie A leaders Napoli have made Hudson-Odoi a priority target ahead of the summer market.

Now, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, Manchester United are monitoring the Forest winger.

Sheth states that Forest are still in negotiations with Hudson-Odoi over a new deal at the City Ground, but so far, there’s been no progress.

Nottingham Forest may look to Yoane Wissa as Hudson-Odoi’s replacement:

Reports suggest Forest retain an interest in Brentford attacker Yoane Wissa, who they attempted to acquire in the January window.

Brentford’s £40m asking price deterred them at the time, but Wissa has continued to deliver in front of goal, and with European fixtures ahead, Forest are expected to have a larger transfer fund.

Wissa’s teammate Bryan Mbeumo has also been strongly associated with a move to Forest, though Newcastle United appear to be at the front of the queue for his signing.

A pivotal summer lies ahead.
