NafisaLeeds United may have left Brighton with a valuable point, but one moment from Sky Sports’ coverage of the contest has caught the attention of supporters for an entirely different reason.
Daniel Farke’s side were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at the Amex after another competitive Premier League display, extending their unbeaten start to the campaign.
The Whites made the brighter start and deservedly moved ahead through Jayden Bogle, with Leeds creating enough opportunities in the opening period to have established a healthier advantage.
Brighton, though, responded strongly after the interval and eventually found their equaliser through Lukas Vuskovic’s header.
Both sides subsequently had opportunities to snatch all three points, although it was a remarkable miss from Brighton’s Pascal Gross that became one of the defining moments of the afternoon.
And it was the reaction to that miss from Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson that has now caught the eye of Leeds supporters.

Farke was satisfied with the point despite the opportunities his team had missed.

Yet the bigger picture remains extremely positive for the Whites.
Leeds have now gone unbeaten through their opening three Premier League matches, continuing a run that has seen Farke’s side establish themselves as an extremely difficult team to overcome.
Their defensive resilience and ability to stay in games even when under pressure could prove crucial as the season develops.
The Whites have lost just six times across their last 34 competitive matches, underlining how difficult they have become to beat.
That resilience was evident again at Brighton.
Leeds were arguably the better side during the first half, Brighton responded impressively in the second, and both teams had opportunities to win it late on.
Despite that, Farke’s side refused to collapse.
That is precisely the kind of mentality that could give Leeds a realistic chance of challenging for a top-half finish if they maintain their current standards.
