Just months after departing Celtic Park, the winger’s future is again in focus.
Luis Palma was sent on loan to Olympiacos in January following a lackluster first half of the season at Celtic, where he managed only one league start.
His loan stint with the Greek club runs until the season’s end.
However, Olympiacos manager Jose Luis Mendilibar has suggested that Palma will head back to Celtic once his time in Greece concludes.
Despite Olympiacos clinching the Greek championship earlier this month, Palma’s fortunes have barely improved since leaving Celtic.
He has started just two league matches since his move.
In fact, Palma has seen only 18 minutes of action since mid-March and was left on the bench during Olympiacos’ title-sealing victory over AEK Athens last week.
Mendilibar, the Spanish manager, seems to have decided against triggering the £3.5million option to sign Palma permanently, stating: “I have already made my decisions about the players who will stay and who will go at the end of the season.
“And it will be very difficult for them to change my mind in the remaining games of the season.”
Palma remains tied to Celtic with three years left on his contract.
Having already earned a league winner’s medal with Olympiacos, Palma could add another with Celtic, as the Hoops are on the verge of securing the Scottish Premiership title.
Brendan Rodgers’ side can clinch the championship with a victory over Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday.
Celtic are also chasing a domestic treble, having already won the League Cup and demolished St Johnstone 5-0 at Hampden on Sunday to book a Scottish Cup Final clash with Aberdeen in just over a month.
