Leeds United supporters will remember the midfielder as one of the key figures during the club’s promotion push in the Championship, but his career has taken an unexpected route since departing West Yorkshire.
A move to France promised a fresh challenge, yet things never truly clicked.
A loan spell followed, first-team opportunities became increasingly scarce, and now the experienced international appears ready to begin another chapter much closer to home.
That player is former Leeds midfielder Glen Kamara.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Kamara has agreed to join Championship side Queens Park Rangers from Rennes.
Romano posted on X:
“Excl: Glen Kamara has agreed to join QPR, deal agreed also between clubs with Rennes and here we go! Agreement on loan with an option to buy. Deal at paperwork stage.”
Kamara joined Leeds United from Rangers in August 2023 and quickly became an important member of the squad, making 42 appearances during a campaign that ended in heartbreak as the Whites lost the Championship play-off final to Southampton after finishing third.
Despite his consistent displays, Leeds sanctioned his move to French side Rennes in the summer of 2024 after just one season at Elland Road.
His spell in Ligue 1 never lived up to expectations.
The Finland international managed only 18 appearances before being sent on loan to Saudi Pro League outfit Al Shabab in January 2025 in search of regular football.
Even after returning to Rennes, opportunities remained limited, with Kamara featuring for just 88 minutes throughout last season.
Now, the 30-year-old is set for another fresh start.
QPR have reached an agreement with Rennes to sign the midfielder on loan, with the Championship club also securing an option to make the move permanent if Kamara impresses during the campaign.
For the experienced midfielder, the switch offers the chance to rediscover the form that once made him a standout performer in both Scotland and England.
And for Leeds supporters, it will be another opportunity to watch a familiar face back where many believe he produced some of the best football of his career.
