According to regional German outlet Hamburger Abendblatt, the Foxes have had an offer turned down for Swedish defender Eric Smith, who is currently with Bundesliga club St. Pauli. Smith, 28, is a well-liked figure and has recently been serving as captain in the absence of Jackson Irvine – formerly of Hull City.
Smith is a vital player, and St. Pauli are resolute in their determination to keep him past the transfer window’s close, given his essential role. It is considered highly unlikely that he will be sold.
