NafisaCeltic are prepared to finalize the transfer of Benjamin Nygren, with the Swedish international attacker poised to complete his move to the Glasgow giants.
It was confirmed last week that Anderlecht, who had also aimed to secure the Nordsjaelland player, had withdrawn their pursuit. They stepped back because they believed Nygren had already chosen to join Parkhead.
Sky Sports now reports that Celtic have secured their target, with manager Brendan Rodgers set to unveil the arrival of the attack-oriented 23-year-old.
Personal terms with Nygren had already been settled, with the only remaining hurdle being the transfer fee between the clubs.
Celtic have agreed a €2 million deal to bring the dynamic forward to Parkhead, according to reports.
This represents good value for Celtic, with Nygren holding an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €2.1m. His value has surged significantly over the past year, as he was valued at less than €1m in November.
The Hoops have acted swiftly to capitalize on the fact that Nygren’s contract had only six months remaining, set to expire in December.

Nygren, who has three caps for his country, arrives in Glasgow in top form, having enjoyed the most successful season of his career. Nygren scored an impressive 16 goals across all competitions for Nordsjaelland last season, after netting 12 in the previous campaign.
He is an attacking midfielder capable of playing across the forward line. Most often, however, he has been deployed by Nordsjaelland on the right wing, where he has achieved much of his success.
While his dribbling has been highlighted as a key strength, he is also recognized as a tireless defensive contributor, making him a well-rounded player at both ends of the pitch. His leadership qualities were further evidenced by his appointment as Nordsjaelland’s captain toward the end of the season.
Data analytics firm SciSports compare him favorably to former Rangers player Vaclav Cerny, who played in the Premiership last season.
Nygren is set to be announced as Celtic’s first summer acquisition, with the Hoops also reportedly pursuing Hayato Inamura of Albirex Niigata – another player seen as a promising talent for the Glasgow club.
