“Our decision is to sell him to Nottingham Forest. We decided on the transfer. It’s business, and His stay (at parent club) doesn’t pay the bills” —Agent of 24-year old star has now confirmed DONE DEAL transfer move with Forest as he reveals player will be in England after the CWC for Medical, Contract Signing

Nottingham Forest have reignited their interest in Igor Jesus, with developments accelerating rapidly concerning the Botafogo forward.

Evangelos Marinakis was eager to secure a striker in January, and after missing out, it now seems the Forest owner is determined to waste no time this summer in securing a new option up front.

Jesus is being linked with Forest just days after the team’s campaign ended in disappointment following a 1-0 loss at home to Chelsea, a result that ended any hopes of Champions League qualification next season.

Forest are also targeting two other Botafogo talents, but it seems that a deal for Jesus is the first transaction the club is looking to finalise as a top priority.

As with all transfers, the dynamics are constantly shifting, and fresh, promising information is emerging from Brazil regarding Forest’s pursuit of Jesus.

Agent of Igor Jesus makes encouraging revelation about Nottingham Forest deal:

The potential transfer seems to be gathering serious momentum, with Jesus apparently open to the switch to the City Ground. Now, the striker’s agent has weighed in with an update.

Brazilian reporter Felipe Alves has spoken with Jefferson Batista, who runs Jesus’ representation agency, and signs point to this deal picking up pace swiftly.

Alves was told: “Igor loves Botafogo and his wish is to stay, but our decision is to sell him to Nottingham Forest.

“The club also wants to keep him, but we decided on the transfer. It’s business, and Igor’s stay doesn’t pay the bills.

“At first, Igor will stay at Botafogo until the end of the Club World Cup and then he will travel to England.”

Forest in need of attacking reinforcement and Jesus could deliver:

The forward could prove to be a brilliant addition to the Forest line-up, with Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi currently the only central strikers available at the club.

Jesus is unlikely to be the only offensive reinforcement this summer, but his arrival would mark a strong opening move in the market, with progress happening at pace.

The Brazilian attacker seems like a natural finisher in and around the box, and his performances last season were crucial in helping Botafogo secure their historic first top-flight league crown in Brazil.

With his agent’s remarks now out in public, excitement is building—and all indications are that this transfer could be greenlit once the Club World Cup concludes in July.
