OFFICIAL — 21-year old Spanish star will face with Celtic after €6m Done Deal Announcement by Fabrizio Romano yesterday with release clause triggered, contract signed until 2029

Former Celtic defender Alex Valle appears set to come up against the Scottish Champions just months after ending a loan spell early. The 21-year-old contributed to Celtic’s Premier Sports Cup triumph last December and competed with Greg Taylor for the left-back slot under Brendan Rodgers.

Valle featured in 19 matches for Celtic, providing 5 assists and playing a role in helping Celtic achieve the Double. The stint was brought to an early end with Barca opting to recall him and send him out to join up with a former club legend, Cesc Fabregas.

Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the left-sided defender had sealed a €6m transfer to Cesc Fabregas’ ambitious side.

Earlier today, it was announced that Celtic would take on Como as part of the Como Cup in Italy. The Scottish Champions are set to face the Serie A club along with Ajax and Saudi outfit Al-Ahli. This means Brendan will encounter Valle only a few months after the Spaniard departed for an initial loan spell with Como.

Celtic may need to seek a new left-back this summer with Greg Taylor’s deal nearing its end.

The Scotland International has managed to fend off several challengers for his position but has taken notice with the news that Kieran Tierney is set to return.

In a perfect scenario, Celtic would be able to rely on both Tierney and Taylor next season, but as time passes, it increasingly seems inevitable that the player will move on.
