Deal Agreed, Player in West Yorkshire for Medicals today — Fabrizio Romano confirms All documents are ready for Top-class 26-year old star to SIGN in as new Leeds United player from for €22m package after reaching agreement on summer transfer to Elland Road

Udinese centre-back Jaka Bijol is scheduled to undergo his medical at Leeds United today, with the Whites close to finalizing a transfer agreement.

Negotiations are now understood to have been concluded and a deal secured, with only the formalities remaining once the medical is complete. A fee exceeding £17million is anticipated to be settled, though no confirmation has been provided at this stage regarding the price.

Bijol will become United’s second acquisition of the transfer window, following the signing of Lukas Nmecha, who has agreed to join Elland Road once his contract at Wolfsburg expires on July 1.

As shared by Leeds Live on Saturday, Bijol had agreed to a move to Leeds last week, with the club growing confident that a deal would be finalized. Discussions have advanced swiftly since then, and Bijol’s arrival is expected to be confirmed within the next 24 hours, provided the medical is successful.

Claims that Newcastle United had entered the competition for Bijol were dismissed by sources in Udine. Leeds were consistently regarded as the leaders in the pursuit of the 26-year-old, who has 63 caps for Slovenia.

United are aiming to recruit at least five key players this summer, and Bijol will be one of them. There are currently four senior centre-back options in Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu, Pascal Struijk, and Max Wober, though the latter has been informed he is to be transferred.

Meanwhile, James Debayo – who made one senior appearance after his November debut last season – has yet to sign the new contract offered to him earlier this summer.
