Wolves are facing one of their most significant summers in recent memory – and it appears one transfer target might be heading elsewhere.

The club is aiming to build upon the impressive progress Vitor Pereira has made over the past few months, but they are currently dealing with several hurdles.

Matheus Cunha and Pablo Sarabia are confirmed departures, and Rayan Ait-Nouri is expected to complete a switch to Manchester City soon.

Cardoso now seems set to join Atleti, which is disappointing, as he’s a quality defensive midfielder who could have added valuable squad depth.
