SKY SPORTS NEWS — Player could now be on his way to Parkhead — Premier League Golden Boot winner with 72 PL Goals wanted by Brendan Rodgers has now been told he can pack his Bags and LEAVE the club amid move to Celtic this summer to replace Kyogo

Celtic’s January transfer target Danny Ings is expected to become a free agent after West Ham United confirmed his departure. The 32-year-old forward previously played under Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool and was pursued on deadline day by the Scottish champions.

West Ham boss Graham Potter aims to bring in his own recruits and has opted to part ways with several of David Moyes’ trusted players from his tenure.

Celtic attempted to acquire Ings on a temporary deal in January following Kyogo Furuhashi’s switch to Rennes. West Ham vetoed the move as they sought more attacking depth; however, Ings has only featured 17 times, netting once and providing two assists.

Celtic remain strongly linked with Mathias Kvistgaarden but will need to fork out £11m for the highly regarded Danish forward. The challenge in securing this deal lies in the valuation and growing interest from Bundesliga outfits.

Brendan Rodgers will want to reinforce his squad in the summer, though it will demand calculated spending aligned with the club’s trading philosophy.

Ings has likely been earning a substantial salary at West Ham and will be aiming for one final significant contract before retiring.

Clubs in the lower half of the Premier League may consider Ings as a viable addition, while leading Championship sides are also expected to be interested. Celtic would gain from his wealth of experience, though signing a player like Ings offers no long-term resale potential.
