The very latest Celtic transfer updates this Friday morning as we bring news on Ross Doohan, Kyogo Furuhashi, Scott Bain, Jeffrey Schlupp and Tobi Oluwayemi.
Ross Doohan’s Aberdeen departure confirmed:
It was an outcome we anticipated, but it’s now been officially verified by the Dons. Aberdeen confirmed yesterday that goalkeeper Ross Doohan has departed the club.
His deal expired and this now clears Celtic’s route to pursue his signing, with Brendan Rodgers eager to bring in Doohan on a free deal.
He is projected to succeed Scott Bain following Celtic’s statement on Thursday.
Scott Bain departs Celtic after seven years
Bain will exit Paradise after seven seasons at the club. He arrived under Rodgers in 2018 from Dundee, initially on an emergency loan.
He then joined on a full-time basis and was largely comfortable in his role as a reserve goalkeeper in Celtic’s senior squad under Neil Lennon, Ange Postecoglou and Rodgers once more.
Bain told the official Celtic website: “I am really sad, of course, to be leaving the club but I am so thankful, too, for everything the club has given me.
“I have enjoyed my time at Celtic massively and it has been a huge honour to be part of the biggest and best club in the country.
“I would like to thank the gaffer and all the other managers I’ve worked with, my many team-mates over the years and all the staff at Celtic.
“I’ve made some great friends at Celtic and will always be supporting the club in everything it does. The Celtic fans are the best around and I thank them for all the support I have been given by them too.
“I wish the club and our supporters nothing but success for the future.”
Kyogo’s Stade Rennais aim to reduce their squad:

Stade Rennais chairman Arnaud Pouille has revealed the club is looking to reduce the size of their senior squad this summer.
It’s a signal that Kyogo may be allowed to leave the French outfit after a disappointing spell that saw him make only six outings without finding the net.
Pouille said: “We’ll need fewer contracts and more knowledge of Ligue 1. We want a training squad of 22 players, plus three goalkeepers.”
Jeffrey Schlupp’s Crystal Palace departure confirmed:

FA Cup champions Crystal Palace have bid farewell to left-sided player Jeffrey Schlupp, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Celtic.
Schlupp first arrived at the Selhurst Park outfit in January 2017 and made 247 appearances in their colours.
He is moving on from Palace following the end of his contract. Sky Sports have stated that Schlupp has been in contact with Celtic over a potential permanent switch to the Hoops.
Celtic goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi speaks on his future:
Young Celtic goalie Tobi Oluwayemi has told the Dunfermline Press that he’s uncertain about returning to the Scottish Championship side.

Oluwayemi spent last campaign on loan at Dunfermline Athletic and recorded 12 shutouts across 34 matches.
Asked about the possibility of returning to Neil Lennon’s Pars, he responded: “I don’t know, honestly.
“As a player, you just focus on where you are and what you have to do, and you leave all the things up to the people that make the decisions, ultimately.
“I’ve still got a bit of time left at Celtic, but ultimately we’ll just see how things go.”
