NafisaThe Scottish FA have confirmed that a dual interest dispensation request from Rangers has been accepted.
Hampden officials gave the green light as Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises secured a significant stake in Rangers.
The club had previously indicated that the takeover had cleared checks with the Scottish FA, as 49ers Enterprises already own a portion of English Premier League side Leeds.
The Scottish FA has authorised the takeover to proceed without complications, provided written guarantees are signed by club representatives and the investing entity.
The arrangement ensures that the investing group’s involvement in another club does not prevent Rangers from competing in any UEFA tournament for which they qualify, among other stipulations.
A Scottish FA release stated: “The board of the Scottish FA has approved a dual interest dispensation request from Rangers Football Club under Article 13.
“This approval has been granted subject to written undertakings, signed by the club and the investing party, which among other commitments ensures that the investing party’s interest in any other clubs does not preclude the club from participating in any UEFA competition it qualifies for.”

- DUAL INTERESTS IN CLUBS
13.1 Unless prior written approval of the Board is obtained:-
(a) no club or its nominee; and
(b) no individual, whether wholly or as a trustee, either independently or jointly with one or more associates or solely via an associate or associates (even where such person lacks formal ownership), who:-
(i) is a member of a club; or
(ii) is engaged in any role whatsoever in the operations or governance of a club; or
(iii) holds any authority whatsoever to impact the operations or governance of a club, may simultaneously either directly or indirectly:-
(A) hold membership of another club; or
(B) be engaged in any role whatsoever in the operations or governance of another club; or
(C) possess any authority whatsoever to impact the operations or governance of another club.
