MASSIVE NEWS — 49ers now want to APPOINT ‘one of football’s most stunning young coaches’ as New Rangers Manager to take the club above Celtic and end Hoops Dominance in Scotland

Rangers are weighing up the possibility of naming Sheffield Wednesday’s Danny Rohl as their next manager, according to TEAMtalk.

It has been a campaign to forget for the blue side of Glasgow. Rangers began the season under the leadership of Philippe Clement, but due to ongoing inconsistency, the Belgian was relieved of his duties in 2025. He had led Rangers to the final of the Scottish League Cup, which they lost to fierce rivals Celtic.

Even more damaging was Rangers’ unexpected fifth-round elimination from the Scottish Cup at the hands of Queen’s Park.

Although the club had shown decent form in Europe, they had significantly fallen behind Celtic in the league standings by the time Clement was sacked. In his absence, Rangers appointed ex-midfielder Barry Ferguson on a temporary basis until the conclusion of the season.

Rangers have now fully shifted their focus to the upcoming campaign. Already in control of newly-promoted Leeds United in England, 49ers Enterprises are making strong progress in their bid to acquire the club and already have a preferred candidate in mind for who could be their first Rangers boss.

As per TEAMtalk, Danny Rohl is one of the candidates under evaluation by Rangers to become their next head coach. Rohl himself has only been involved in top-level management for two years, with his current job at Sheffield Wednesday being the first of his senior career.

In his debut season at Hillsborough, Rohl miraculously steered Wednesday to survival in the Championship.

The club appeared destined for relegation throughout much of the season, only for Rohl to haul them out of the drop zone on the final day. In his second season, the German coach led Wednesday to a stable mid-table finish.

A versatile tactician, Rohl’s future remains uncertain. With constrained finances at Wednesday and a strained rapport with owner Dejphon Chansiri, the German could be set for a change of scenery this summer.

At Rangers, Rohl would be stepping into a huge club that, under new leadership, would likely provide him with the backing needed to fully shape a squad to his vision.

The German is a driven coach, who TEAMtalk labelled as “one of football’s brightest young coaches.”

Rangers would give Rohl the platform to manage a team regularly competing in European competitions and, in return, the club would be gaining a capable manager who could potentially restore them to the top of the Scottish Premiership.
