JUST NOW —Nottingham Forest THREE SIGNINGS Expected to Join the Club after the Club World Cup Named

Nottingham Forest’s plan is to bring three players from Brazilian outfit Botafogo to the City Ground only after the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Tricky Trees are making early moves ahead of the summer transfer window and have been pursuing Botafogo striker Igor Jesus.

He is not the sole target at the Brazilian club that the Premier League side are aiming to acquire.

Highly-rated defender Jair is another player they have, like Jesus, tabled a bid for.

And a further young Botafogo defender, Cuiabano, is on Nottingham Forest’s radar, with the club plotting a triple swoop on the Brazilian giants.

Nottingham Forest won’t bring them to Europe just yet though, as, according to journalist Jorge Nicola, ‘the idea is’ to complete the trio of signings after the FIFA Club World Cup.

Botafogo are set to feature in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup in the United States next month.

The Brazilian side will face Seattle Sounders, Paris Saint-Germain, and Atletico Madrid in Group B.

The competition will give all three sought-after players a platform to impress, and if Nottingham Forest haven’t secured the signings before then, there could be concerns about rival interest.

Nottingham Forest have Europa Conference League football in their sights for the upcoming season after finishing seventh in the Premier League.

The City Ground side ended the campaign just one point behind fifth-placed Newcastle United, who qualified for the Champions League, and remained in the race for a top five finish until the final round.

Botafogo currently occupy eleventh position in the Brazilian Serie A after nine matches played.
