Supporters will wait until the final fixture of the season against St Mirren to witness the Hoops celebrate the title at Celtic Park.
Most of those who contributed to another triumphant 24/25 season will collect a winners’ medal but unfortunately, for six senior players, they won’t be eligible.
Who are the six players that will miss out on a winners’ medal?
SPFL regulations stipulate that players must have appeared in at least 10 league matches to qualify for a medal.
Rule C39 explains: “The Company shall present to the Champion Club of the League 25 League Championship Medals for Players, other staff and Officials.
“Additional League Championship Medals may be purchased from the Company with the prior consent of the Board.
“Only those Players who participated in 25 per cent or more of the League Matches for the Champion Club in the relevant Season will be eligible to receive such medals.”
As a result, the likes of Viljami Sinisalo will miss out on a medal, having only played a maximum of eight league fixtures – despite covering for Kasper Schmeichel.
Luis Palma will receive one in Greece, but not with his parent club, after featuring in just eight league encounters.
On the other hand, January exits Kyogo Furuhashi and Alex Valle will both earn medals after reaching the required number of appearances.
The players who won’t be awarded medals are: Viljami Sinisalo, Maik Nawrocki, Johnny Kenny, Luis Palma, Odin Thiago Holm, and Stephen Welsh.
Which Celtic players will get a winners’ medal?
While six players will unfortunately be left out, there will still be a total of 21 who will certainly be handed a medal.
Regular contributors such as Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda will receive theirs.
Even January recruit Jeffrey Schlupp will collect a medal having met the criteria.
