Everton supporters have ample reason for hope as the summer approaches.

David Moyes will be occupied on Merseyside, facing challenging decisions regarding the future of several players.

Everton are conducting contract discussions this week at Finch Farm with the specific players they aim to keep.

Some players will be permitted to depart Everton, as the club won’t retain everyone, though there are certainly those they’d prefer to stay.

The Toffees will also need to strive to hold onto some of their contracted talent.

Jarrad Branthwaite is attracting attention ahead of the summer, but he’s not the only player in demand.

Another Everton defender, previously linked with a summer move, has now shared his thoughts on his future with the club.

Vitaliy Mykolenko addresses his Everton future:

Vitaliy Mykolenko has been instrumental for Everton this season as their sole senior left-back.

Having logged significant playing time, Mykolenko has caught the eye of Tottenham Hotspur, who are seeking to strengthen their squad’s depth.

Speaking to the Everton website, the Ukraine international expressed his desire to play at Bramley-Moore Dock as an Everton player next season.

“I cannot imagine it yet. I can’t believe it will be finished this season, the end of Goodison Park, and we’ll go on to a new stadium and there will be new history,” said Mykolenko.

“But I’m very happy to have played at Goodison – it is a special place – and I am excited to hopefully play at the new stadium as well.”

Mykolenko has faced some criticism from Everton fans this season, with the left-back offering limited attacking contributions.

To his credit, the Ukrainian has played a vital role in what has been a robust Everton defensive line this season.

Mykolenko relishes playing for Everton under Moyes:

Although Moyes is keen to sign another left-back, he has demonstrated considerable faith in Mykolenko since returning to Merseyside.

Mykolenko has featured 14 times under Moyes since January, after amassing 65 appearances under Sean Dyche.

The Ukraine international has also discussed how Moyes is working to enhance his game.

“He wants me to join in the attacks and he always says you not only have one job on the pitch, but two or three,” Mykolenko added.

“I’m trying to be my best not only in defence, but in attack as well.”

Recently, Everton have been linked with Nuno Tavares to reinforce their left-back options.
