“He’s a good fit for Leicester because of the way they’ll want to play and the way he likes to play” – Leicester City backed to Appoint Premier League manager as new update emerges with SHOCKING twist that has facilitated everything

With relegation already sealed, the priority at Leicester City is to achieve a second Championship promotion in three years during the 2025/26 season.

The former Premier League winners are experiencing a difficult period back in the top tier under Ruud van Nistelrooy, with many suggesting that the Dutchman could be sacked before next season’s Championship campaign.

Sky Sports reported that former Southampton manager Russell Martin is among the candidates to replace him. However, if the 39-year-old is the Foxes’ preferred choice, they might encounter slight competition from Scottish powerhouse Rangers, according to a report from the Sun.

In an exclusive interview with Football League World, former Aston Villa midfielder and current Sky Sports pundit, Lee Hendrie, shared his thoughts on whether Martin would be a suitable appointment at the King Power Stadium.

Russell Martin’s play style suits Leicester City, according to Lee Hendrie:

“[Russell Martin] has got his style of play which has obviously attracted Leicester and Rangers,” Hendrie said.

“He’s had a taste of Premier League football. If he does go to Leicester, I’m sure they’ll be looking at refreshing. They’ll be one of the favourites to bounce back, you would say.”

“I think he’s a good fit for Leicester because of the way they’ll want to play and the way he likes to play himself, with the style to play out from the back.

“With the squad they have, and obviously they’ll lose players – the likes of Vardy are already going – it’s all about putting his stamp on things.”

Evidently, Leicester will be among the frontrunners to secure an immediate return to the Premier League, and, with Martin’s recent track record in the Championship, he’d likely be a top choice for many Foxes supporters as a potential new manager in the dugout come August.

Rangers manager stance may open door for Leicester City, Russell Martin swoop:

With TeamTalk reporting that Rangers are leaning toward former RB Leipzig boss Marco Rose and Steven Gerrard, who led Rangers to a league title in the 2021/22 season, the opportunity appears to be growing for Leicester City to appoint Russell Martin at the King Power Stadium this summer.

Martin won’t be the only candidate under consideration by Leicester’s leadership, though, with Lee Carsley and current Sheffield Wednesday manager, Danny Rohl, also on the potential shortlist.

The 39-year-old has demonstrated his ability to lead a team with high expectations in the second tier before, so he should be well-equipped to handle the demands of a role like Leicester City’s.

His recent performance in the Premier League might raise some concerns, but for next season, Martin appears to be an ideal match for any team aiming for the title.
