NafisaCeltic have announced that their share of tickets for this weekend’s Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen has now completely sold out.
The Hampden clash, which could see Brendan Rodgers’ team secure a domestic treble, is set to be contested in front of a capacity crowd.
Although the club issued a final batch of just 500 tickets last week, optimism remained among the 12,000 fans on the Home Cup Ticket Scheme who were still waiting for seats. However, those expectations were dashed on Monday when the club confirmed that all tickets had now been taken.
Celtic were allocated just over 20,000 tickets for the final, with the SFA and SPFL opting for an even 50/50 distribution between the two sides.
The restricted allocation has caused frustration among many fans who feel disappointed by the process, particularly after signing up for the season-long ticket scheme and supporting all the earlier cup fixtures.
The desire to be inside Hampden on what could be a memorable day was always going to be enormous, but Monday’s update has left many feeling let down.
On the pitch, Celtic head into the final looking to claim their third trophy of the season. With the League Cup already won in December and the Premiership title secured, the Cup Final provides Rodgers an opportunity to seal his third treble as Celtic manager.
A sold-out Hampden awaits, with no tickets remaining. For the thousands without one, the hope now is that the players give them a reason to cheer regardless.
