NafisaNottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo had a direct reply to the rumours this week that he was contacted to succeed Claudio Ranieri at Roma.
Although Ranieri has significantly transformed the Giallorossi since becoming their third manager of the season in November, he was always firm in his intention to retire at the close of the campaign.
That means the hunt for his replacement has been ongoing for several months, involving a wide range of potential candidates, including Nuno Espirito Santo.

He was questioned about the Roma speculation in a press conference today and brushed it aside with a grin.
“Do you really think that I’m going to waste time on that?” he replied.
“So much seems to get read, my main focus is on preparing the team, trying to get the best solutions and details for the players. Nothing else. Nothing else.”
While Nuno Espirito Santo was a relatively late name thrown into the mix, it now appears to be too late, as Ranieri today hinted that Roma have likely already finalised a deal with their incoming coach.
Others mentioned in the press during the process included Jurgen Klopp, Gian Piero Gasperini, Max Allegri, Roberto De Zerbi and Erik ten Hag, but none appear to be the final choice.
