With that in mind, the Friedkins have now made a surprising move on Merseyside, which is expected to deliver a significant uplift ahead of the transition to the new stadium.

A meeting with Southampton on 18 May marks the final occasion the Toffees will play at Goodison before relocating.
The switch to the Bramley-Moore Dock facility is set and ready ahead of the upcoming campaign, with anticipation growing steadily in recent weeks.
Still, the idea of the L4 venue being demolished was something many fans struggled to come to terms with.
That will no longer happen, as the stadium will now serve as the home ground for the women’s team in what has been described as a “game-changing move for women’s football”.
The Guardian revealed on 13 May that this marks a “shock move” from the Friedkins, aiming to make Goodison “one of the most distinctive homes in European women’s football”.
