NafisaStrikers are firmly on the agenda for Nottingham Forest this summer, with a prolific goal-getter among the names under consideration.
Forest have made a new forward a key priority in the upcoming window as they aim to relieve some of the pressure on Chris Wood, who has been a standout performer in the Premier League this term.
In fact, Wood currently holds the highest shot conversion rate in the division this season, but his 20-goal tally has not been matched by similar contributions from the rest of the Forest squad.
Liam Delap has attracted attention from Forest for his impressive displays at relegated Ipswich Town, but one attacking option from overseas could catch the club’s eye even more.

Overseas alternatives are certainly under review, with Forest’s recent move for Baris Yilmaz highlighting the club’s extensive scouting approach.
This particular pursuit centres on Italy, as reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s team monitoring Lazio’s Valentin ‘Taty’ Castellanos.
Commenting on Premier League interest in Castellanos, the report stated: “There have also been surveys from the Premier League. Wolverhampton are selling Cunha to Manchester United for almost 80 million euros [£67m]; they are looking for a top-level striker and have great resources to invest.
“West Ham are also looking for a striker to pair with the young Ferguson, after Antonio’s serious injury and especially in view of Fullkrug’s possible farewell. Keep an eye on Nottingham Forest too.”
The Reds are clearly not alone in the pursuit of the Argentine frontman, but are well-placed to match the Italian club’s reported valuation.
Lazio set attractive price tag for Valentin Castellanos:
With European qualification secured, Forest are preparing to spend significantly this summer as Espirito Santo aims to build on this season’s impressive development.
That said, they may not need to overspend to land Castellanos, as the report noted: “Taty – like no other player – can be considered unsellable, if important offers were to arrive, in the order of 30-35 million euros.”
At approximately £30m, the potential deal could appeal to Evangelos Marinakis, especially when considering the 26-year-old’s output at Lazio this campaign.
