Celtic supporters attending Ibrox this weekend have been instructed to assemble at a specified meeting point two and a half hours prior to kick-off.

Approximately 2,000 Hoops enthusiasts will be in the away section on Sunday for the 12noon clash as the Glasgow rivals face off for the fifth and final time this season.

However, with heightened security protocols in place for the high-stakes match, Police Scotland have devised a strategy to safely guide Celtic fans into the stadium by 10.30am.

Celtic’s supporter liaison officer, John Paul Taylor, shared on X: “This weekend fans who have a valid match ticket are requested to gather at Broomloan Coach Park from 09:30 with a view to being in the Stadium around 10:30.

“Coach Park on Broomloan Rd will be for Supporters Coaches only. Ticket checks will be in place on approach to the Stadium.”

The green-and-white devotees will be seated in the corner of the Broomloan Stand adjacent to the usual away section in the Govan West.

A comparable arrangement was implemented when Rangers visited Celtic Park in March after both clubs agreed to terminate the two-year away fan exclusion.

Gers supporters were cautioned they could miss the start of the match at Celtic Park unless they arrived no later than two hours before the game.

The Green Brigade and Union Bears both encountered containment measures ahead of the Parkhead encounter, and around 90 ultras were refused entry.

Enhanced safety measures have been put in place for both visiting teams since the traditional 7,000 away fan allocation was reduced in 2018.

This marks the first occasion Celtic fans have been permitted to attend a match at Ibrox since January 2023, when Kyogo’s late strike secured a 2-2 draw.
