Leicester City’s recall left West Brom empty-handed, but Barnes continued to rise
When the January transfer window opened, Leicester acted quickly to recall their emerging star. Barnes’ final appearance for West Brom came in a 2-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers, where he won a penalty converted by Rodriguez before bidding farewell to The Hawthorns.
At the time, Leicester were still competing in the top half of the Premier League, three years after their historic title triumph. Barnes was immediately integrated into the first-team setup for the remainder of the season.
