Premier League Club Moves Fast to Secure Midfield Reinforcement: A top-flight English club is gearing up for a major summer transfer push, with plans to strengthen multiple positions. Among their targets is Italian midfielder, but competition from rivals like Tottenham could spark a bidding war.

Nottingham Forest are set to pursue new signings in the summer transfer window, regardless of how the remainder of the season unfolds.

Club owner Evangelos Marinakis was eager to bring in a striker during the January window, but an inflated market and financial regulations made negotiations difficult. A move for Yoane Wissa fell through, while Matheus Cunha—who was linked with Forest—opted to sign a new contract with Wolves, securing a £62.5 million release clause for the summer.

While a striker remains a priority, Forest are also expected to strengthen other areas of the squad ahead of the new campaign.

Nottingham Forest Interested in Davide Frattesi

Forest are reportedly targeting a new midfielder, with ESPN claiming the club is interested in signing Italian international Davide Frattesi when the transfer window reopens.

Nuno Espírito Santo has faced challenges in shaping his midfield this season, with Elliot Anderson establishing himself alongside options like Danilo, Ibrahim Sangaré, Ryan Yates, and Nicolás Domínguez.

Frattesi joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2023 for around £20 million and has made 32 appearances across all competitions this season, contributing four goals and two assists. Inter are said to be open to selling him for approximately £35 million, as they look to make a profit on the 25-cap Italy international.

The midfielder earned praise in October for his “relentless” performance against Roma, highlighting his tenacity and work ethic—qualities that have reportedly drawn interest from multiple clubs.

Tottenham Enter the Race for Frattesi

Forest could face competition from Tottenham, who have also been linked with the midfielder. Speculation suggests agents may be attempting to spark a bidding war ahead of the 2025/26 season.

With potential midfield changes on the horizon, Forest may need to make space for new arrivals. A reshuffle in the squad could see a player like Domínguez return to Italy.

Regardless of their European qualification status, Forest are expected to be active in the summer window, with Marinakis keen to continue strengthening the squad for the next phase of the club’s development.
