Man Utd Star Brutally Mocked by Jamie Redknapp for ‘Shocking, Little Boy’ Performance Against Forest

Jamie Redknapp Slams Lisandro Martinez After Nottingham Forest Defeat

Jamie Redknapp didn’t hold back in his criticism of Lisandro Martinez following Manchester United’s 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Saturday evening. The 5ft 9in defender was easily brushed aside by Forest’s Nikola Milenkovic, allowing the Serbian to head home from a corner in the first half.

United had been level at 1-1 after Rasmus Hojlund’s equaliser, but Redknapp was quick to point out Martinez’s weakness in the build-up to Milenkovic’s goal.

“He’s got to be stronger, Martinez. He’s like a little boy there. He gets bullied, doesn’t he?” Redknapp said during Sky Sports’ analysis.

Phil Jones, also on punditry duty, agreed: “He’s got to be stronger there. Again, side on, you can see the ball, see the man.”

United’s woes continued after the break when Andre Onana spilled a tame Morgan Gibbs-White effort into the net, and Chris Wood doubled Forest’s lead with a header that Martinez should have cleared off the line.

Despite a late rally, including a brilliant strike from Bruno Fernandes, United couldn’t find an equaliser, leaving Redknapp to suggest that Martinez’s defensive frailty was a key factor in their defeat.
