One Leicester City player has a golden chance to step up and prove his worth following a disappointing start to the season.

The Foxes are enduring a challenging 2024/25 Premier League campaign, with pressure mounting on manager Steve Cooper.

Reports suggest the Leicester boss may have until the end of the year to guide his side clear of relegation fears, as rumors of frustration grow at the King Power Stadium.

Cooper’s task has been made harder by the double injury blow to attacking duo Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu, both sidelined after picking up knocks on international duty with Ghana.

Their absence opens the door for summer signing Bilal El Khannouss to take centre stage and finally justify his £21 million price tag.

The Moroccan international has struggled to make an impact since arriving from Genk, managing just seven appearances this season, only one of which was a start.

Despite his promising record in Belgium, where he registered three goals and six assists last season, he has yet to score or assist in the Premier League.

Cooper’s patience is wearing fine, but with injuries forcing his hand, El Khannouss is likely to get a run of games.

If the 20-year-old can channel his 2023/24 form, he could help Leicester turn their fortunes around and silence his critics in the process.
