NafisaLeicester City have reportedly resumed their pursuit of Nantes forward Mostafa Mohamed as the January transfer window approaches.
The Egypt international was heavily linked with the Foxes during the summer, with discussions said to have taken place on deadline day in August.
Despite Nantes being open to a sale, no agreement was reached before the window closed.
According to AfricaFoot, the French club remain “open” to the idea of selling Mohamed, placing a €10 million (£8.3m) valuation on the 26-year-old.
The player has supposedly “expressed his wish” to move on in January, with Leicester cited as the most likely destination.The report claims City are “looking to sign him” to strengthen Steve Cooper’s attacking options.
Mohamed initially joined Nantes on loan from Galatasaray two years ago, later making the move permanent.
However, consistent starting opportunities have been limited this season, with only four of his 10 Ligue 1 appearances coming as a starter.
He has managed just one league goal this term, though he boasts 17 league goals in total during his time at the club.In the summer, Leicester reportedly engaged in “express negotiations” to sign the striker.
A £12.5m bid from a Saudi Arabian club was accepted, but Mohamed rejected the offer, preferring to stay in Europe. Wolves and Marseille were also linked at the time.
